GNN Staff: Jordan

Hello I am Jordan of GNN. I was introduced to this site by my friend HS. Once they converted Gamah Watch to GNN, they invited me on.

Here is a summation of my gaming history. I was actually more of a computer game guy until I bought my very own N64 in early 2005 (I know, compared to HS and Scott I'm new to the gaming scene) along with a copy of Super Smash Bros., a game I had been looking for for years. After that I rapidly collected a number of N64 titles including Zelda: Majora's Mask, Star Fox 64, Super Mario 64, and many others. I became a big fan of Zelda, Mario and certain RPGs. Eventually I bought both a GCN and a DS. From then on I got a Wii and a DS Lite. To date my favorite series' are Zelda, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Mario RPGs, Smash Bros., Final Fantasy, and most
recently Metroid. To sum up my favorites I have a list of my top ten games:

10. Metriod Prime
This is one of the coolest games I have ever played! Retro Studios was a rookie developer but it didn't show in this masterpiece.
The game was huge, the items and upgrades plentiful, and the bosses challenging and fun! Need I say more?

9. Final Fantasy IV Advance
This is the definitive version of the SNES classic. It had a great re-worked translation, smoother plot progression, and a load of wonderful extras including a fifty-floor dungeon!

8. Advance Wars
One of the best turn-based strategy games ever. The story was kinda hooky but this game was not about the story. It was all about the complex, yet easy to understand game-mechanics. This has one of the best multiplayer modes too, with over 50 maps to choose from!

7. Zelda: Ocarina of Time
In it's time it had the best story in a Zelda game to date. Plus it pioneered 3-D Zelda gaming perfectly. It was a huge game with lots of puzzles, lots of dungeons, lots of Bosses, and lots of side quests.

6. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
The original was good but this was a big improvement over it. The story was better, there were more side quests, a lot more to do, and it succeeded were many games of its type fail: It gives you a reason to use every single character.

5. Baiten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and The Lost Ocean
Probably has the best graphics I have ever seen in a game. Collecting Magnus (the basis of the game's battle system) was unique and very addicting. The story was also one of the best I have ever seen, with a plot that kept you guessing who was on who's side.

4. Advance Wars: Dual Strike
This AW title had a number of great features such as: Assigning 2 CO to one army, Dual Strikes, Level up and Skill system, and a number of new maps for multiplayer.

3. Zelda: A Link To The Past
This was in retrospect a precursor to Ocarina but it had better music, more dungeons and slightly more interesting boss battles.

2. Fire Emblem (FE7 Sealed Sword in Japan)
This is the best FE game I have played to date. It had a load of side-quests anunlockable second mode that revealed more story arcs and varying endings depending on your support conversations. It also had one of the best villains ever (He even rivalsGanon - and that's saying a lot)!

1. Master Of Orion: Battle At Antares
This is the only PC game on my list but it tops my chart for many reasons. First, it is one of those games that can suck you in for months due to the length some games can get to! Second, this game seemingly has it all! Colony management, trading, population control, science advancement, and Imperialism...You name it!

Well that is it for the noob known as Jordan summarized. Enjoy the site and feel free to email any questions to me (but no stalker emails). And remember; "I saw a frog the size of a bear...AND I ATE IT!"
